We will discuss the God/Devil relationship. I am using the Christian God concepts here, but the same argument should work for many dualistic religions.
God is the sole creator of everything, in all-knowing omnipotence. Satan, God's most powerfully endowed angel, plus the entire order of creation (the most powerful, original, angels) oppose God and fall from grace. They are from then on considered evil.
Everything that is good is considered to come from God. God is Good, and Good is God. Everything that is not Good is due to Satan and his influence, starting with the original sin (the cause of death, pain suffering, etc) and affecting every person. It is necessary that EVERY person be warned that they are in the influence of Satan whilst on the Earth, because all people have immoral thoughts and therefore Satan must be at work in all people.
To say that an immoral thought is not caused by Satan would mean that a Human can naturally be immoral - and this is not how God made man - therefore it must be The Devil's work (else God would be seen as a creator of evil).
God is said to be Good, benevolent. In order to be benevolent he has to be seen as benevolent by us, Human Beings, without forcing us to believe so. You may notice that this means it is IMPOSSIBLE for God to be benevolent unless we choose to see him as such and therefore we MUST be born into sin, else we would be nothing but robot-worshippers of a programmer-God who would not be benevolent.
Satan is required so that we see God as good. Satan is required so that we have an externalized source of evil which we let in due to our faults, which is the Christian mechanism to explain sin. Satan is required for the functioning of Christianity.
Satan was the most intelligent being that God created. Satan opposes God. Think about this. Satan is not omniscient, but as God's most intelligent angel, is clever beyond any of our imaginations.
If Satan wanted to defeat God He would do it by denying God any followers at all - thereby reducing God to a helpless spectator of a world of Humans that fully reject him. How would Satan do this?
The first thing Satan would do is to foil God's plan. God needs to be seen as Good. In order for God to be Good people must have a choice between accepting God or remaining with Satan. Surely then, Satan's road to victory is to deny God's benevolence by not going along with this.
Satan would not comply with God's plan, Satan would not fulfil the role required to make God benevolent, Satan would not behave in the stupid manner the Bible describes, but would simply do nothing. Satan would be an atheist, a humanist, who denies the trinity by simply not opposing them. This way he is not evil, and God is not good, because people can no more turn from Satan as they can turn to God.
From this we can extrapolate that not only is the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ the second and third face of God, but that Satan is the fourth. We have already seen that Satan does not act as an intelligent opposer to God - and this because it would not be in God's interest to have a truly intelligent adversary.
Satan therefore follows the stupid image that God wants him to fulfil in order to be seen as the Good guy. Satan is directly controlled by God in just the way that Jesus Christ was (Jesus Christ IS God, so how can it be otherwise?). Satan fulfils exactly all the criteria required of him, Satan does not rebel at all! Is this coincidence?!
God created Satan as allegedly the most powerful angel, but this is a dogma merely to provide an excuse as to why ALL people are influenced by him. If God was omnipotent however, then Satan could not have ANY power over God unless he shared in that omnipotence. If Satan was an individual opposer he would not fulfil the requirements that God wants him to, he would foil God's plan and rebel.
The "rebellion" of Satan is a fraud, just as the crucifixion of Jesus Christ was. If Jesus Christ is God, then what was the point of the crucifixion? God can create a Jesus Christ at any time he pleases, he can do anything. The crucifixion was nothing more than God deciding that he couldn't be bothered to control the Jesus Christ body any more - and likewise the rebellion of Satan was staged by God in order to fulfil his own ends. Satan is a tool, just like sin, that the Judeo-Christian world has made up in order to spread the fear and guilt required to get people scared enough to attend Church.
The Christian Satan facilitates the false point of view that accepting God is good, when in reality it is nothing. The entire masquerade is a plot to make people think they are making the moral choices when in fact they are having their choices taken away from them. It is no more moral to accept God than it is to be an atheist. This can be proved simply - there is no moral goodness that an atheist is not capable of, that a theist is.
Satanism is the philosophy that contains this opposition. Satanism is the unreligion, the belief that ALL the Gods are false and should be replaced with whatever the individual requires at any precise moment. With a completely subjective internalized God.
A Satanist is not evil. There is nothing to gain from running around being immoral, for the sake of attention, because simply it is dumb and will fulfil exactly what the dual religions require: A scapegoat to blame bad things on, an externalized threat to fight against and an internal source of guilt for letting the external source have influence. The immature "evil" person or Devil Worshipper is merely playing straight into the hands of the Christian just like Satan's staged rebellion is merely playing out the part God wills him to.
Satanism is the intelligent opposition to the Church, not the Devil Worshipping methods of evil, which merely reinforce the benevolence of the Supreme God. To take away these Gods we must deny them the opposite that they need. This is a coincidence, because it just so happens that the Church Of Satan is completely atheist, and recognizes Satan as the natural instincts of Man, not as a evil deity.
Satan is the carnal, real-life materialist necessity of life, and represents evil no more than good and no less. Devil Worshippers are working against Satanists, in that they reinforce the dual traditions of the Christian sects.
The Satanists is moral, intelligent, happy, a normal person who understand the theology of what he represents: Antitheism. Antitheism is the denying of the Christian trinity, and every other deity, in the name of the intelligent Satan. We are the Satan that God would have never allowed to exist - the non-puppets and the non-sheep, who do not comply with the Christian image of what Satan is.
Relevant Satanic Statements, taken from the Nine Satanic Statements printed in The Satanic Bible:
2. Satan represents vital existence, instead of spiritual pipe dreams!Satanism is the intelligent antitheism, and the philosophical implementation of the humanist principle, with our Satan as our model - not the Christian puppet-Satan, but ourselves, each one of us a Satan of the theistic churches.
3. Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self deceit!
9. Satan has been the best friend the Church has ever had, as he has kept it in business all these years!
A Satanist is not the Christian puppet, nor the scapegoat, but merely a person whose existence denies the Church their dualism without having to do anything other than be knowledgeable!
The comparison to the eating of the apple from the tree of knowledge, the original sin, is unavoidable. The Satanist uses theology against the theists in the name of anti-theism, in the name of Satan, the force of goodevil that is neither moral or immoral, but is merely the will to survive and please oneself, taking into account long term consequences.
Without a valid evil enemy the Church is no longer inspiring. Satanism supplies the lovely rituals and dogma that the Theistic Churches do, only we do it in the name of psychological stress relief and confidence rather than self deceitful guilt complexes. The Church Of Satan retains the good points of the ritualistic religious elements whilst dispensing with the falsehoods and deities. At the same time the Church Of Satan undermines and ridicules the theistic premise that Satan is evil.
